Fix forms when inertially scrolling
This is an updated version of !169 (closed) with the following changes:
- Targeting the stable branch
- Fixes the remaining comments from that MR
- Renames the new function to be a bit more clear regarding its purpose
Kezi's original authorship is preserved.
