ffmpegthumbs vs kffmpegthumbnailer?
I'm writing some changes to add support for thumb sequences, using ThumbSequenceCreator, for creating multiple frames from a video file that can be shown as a kind of slideshow to the user. So far I've been writing my own ffmpegthumbnailer-based code, but want to incorporate it into one of the existing ThumbCreator-based thumbnailers for KDE very soon.
I have found that there are two separate but very similar projects. One is ffmpegthumbs, which appears to be the one right here. The other is the one over here in the main ffmpegthumbnailer repo, which is the one I found first. Now I understand that ffmpegthumbnailer is a non-KDE-specific library that both of these projects use, but what's the matter with this project here and kffmpegthumbnailer over there? It seems like they had the same code base at one point but then drifted apart? I'm not sure which of the two projects I should base my changes on. I think it would help if the differences between these projects and why both of them exist at the same time were clarified for potential contributors.
