"Clip Palette"
Clip Palette There is a lack of the ability to save clip clips that have already been trimmed. The project bin contains raw clips that are not trimmed, which can contain multiple takes of the same scene, between which I have to choose for a long time and painfully substituting one or the other take in its place on the timeline. It would be very convenient to be able to add to the Project bin or to a separate panel these already trimmed and cut takes and clip fragments, where they could be given meaningful names, put a rating and put color marks. For me, this is really important, because 70% of my working time is occupied by the process of choosing from a variety of options for the clips that are most suitable for the scene.
Now I use additional tracks as a clip palette, but this is not convenient in the first place because I cannot give names and rating to these clips. I use markers for this, but markers do not appear entirely on the timeline when zooming out. Another problem is the lack of space on the track. There are sometimes so many options for clips that they take half the entire project duration and you have to search for the desired clip for a long time by scrolling the timeline left or right. Another problem with this approach is the inconvenience of viewing - in order to see fragments, you have to turn on the display of “this palette track” and then hide it again to watch the main project.
You might want to suggest that I use the Library for these purposes. But in my opinion this is a bad option. Firstly, I had the sad experience of losing all the clips added to the library for some reason I did not understand, so I do not trust her. Clips from the library are inconvenient to use, since they are not full-fledged clips until you make the "Expand End Clip", and this does not at all combine with the concept of the palette with which you can quickly take a clip, try it on to the scene, then delete it and take another one. Thumbnails are not displayed in the library, the library is not tied to the project and it can be easily lost if you lose the configs. In addition, her very concept was not created for this. If you start using it for each project, then over time it will turn into hell with a bunch of folders from each project.
