Between versions 21.12.3 and 22.08.2, there was a change in “Destination In” compositing with an image of a different aspect ratio from the project aspect ratio. In 21.12.3, the area outside the image is treated as opaque.  In 22.08.2, the area outside the image is treated as transparent.  If the behavior in 22.08.2 is the correct behavior, then I think this issue can be closed.
