Encoding issue on every file
Hello, this may be difficult to explain but Kid3 is pretty much screwing encoding and tags for every file I throw at it. I kind of suspect it may be even issue with some underlying library somewhere. But what is actually happening:
- if i open files that were correctly tagged before (even years, and every other app can read them correctly), Kid3 is not showing correctly encoded values for ID3v1 but a string of chinese (or other asian) characters.
- if i try to write something, on save it gets converted instantly to chinese characters, what is worse even other apps are reading it like that afterwards
- if i use some other tagging app, and write ID3v2, Kid3 reads this correctly
I am using KDE neon, which pretty much fits to ubuntu 16.04 with uptodate KDE libs. I was using Kid3 before and it was working flawlessly. I have no idea what may be causing this. Almost looks like some hardware issue appearing, but that would be weird since everything else works normally. When I try Kid3 on other machine it works.
Maybe it would be possible to at least point me where I could start look for an issue?
