kid3 does not display UTF-8 filenames correctly.
My filesystem encoding is UTF-8 and I have music files and directories which have UTF-8 in their pathnames. Kid3-qt does not correctly display these filenames and directories in the open dialog, the file browser, nor in the filename field in the right section of the window. It looks like some extended ASCII encoding like Latin-1 or ISO-8859-* is assumed.
