This lead to an unpleasant situation of choosing the wrong calendar with info that should not have been visible on the wrong calendar (shared with other people).
So I would like to be able to set the default calendar myself and it should stay this way.

I have noticed that Merkuro seems to ask for the Google Authentication quite often. While it is annoying, it is more annoying to do work on the local copy and then wonder why none of it is showing up on the online copy.
If I have not checked for this specifically I could have made a few important appointments which would never have been kept, as the information did not end up where it was supposed to go, all because the calendar was waiting for yet another Google Authentication.
So, please, if a calendar is not connected and it is supposed to be, firstly don't allow any events to be added to the calendar, and somehow indicate that the calendar is offline.
For bonus points, go into some sort of offline mode, store any events added in this mode in a buffer, and sync them back to the online calendar when the connection issue is sorted.
It is very, very bad to fail silently. When something is wrong, make some noise, put on some flashing lights and pop up dialogs.. anything to let the user know that whatever important thing that they are trying to do is probably not going to work unless some issue is sorted out first.
Kind regards,
Evert

Just discovered this software, and I intend to use it in my tour operator business.
There are a few people involved, and in order to keep things organized we use a shared Google Calendar.
I have noticed a few issues, and will file separate bugs for each, to make sure that they get tracked properly.
First, and most worryingly, if I create an event in Merkuro on the Google calendar while the account is waiting for some authentication, or the computer is offline, that event never shows up on the web calendar.
I noticed this discrepancy and tried the following things:
Discovered that the online calendar was waiting for an Auth login.
Re-synched the calendars. Still no luck, the event did not show up on the online calendar.
Moved the event from one date to another. No Luck, the event did not show up on the online calendar.
Finally I deleted the event and re-created it, and then the event showed up on the online calendar.
There needs to be a way for Merkuro to check whether the events it has in its copy of the online calendar matches what is in the online calendar, and create any missing entries.
Of course, resolving conflicts are never simple and straight-forward, so maybe a popup dialog with choices about what to do with the conflicts would be nice.
Conceptually, if someone takes the time to mark an event on a calendar, that event is IMPORTANT. There should be every effort taken to ensure that the online version matches the local version. Having a reputation for being a robust solution is a very good thing.

~~In some cases the wheel is also buggy when trying to set the start time. Many of these I have deselected in the display. When I restart the application, the calendar list on the left properly remembers which ones are to be displayed, but the actual calendar view on the right side shows ALL of the events from every calendar all in the default colors.
When I select/deselect the calendars on the left then the display updates properly to show only the selected calendar in its color. But I need to do this for each calendar in order to get them to the proper hidden/color status.https://invent.kde.org/pim/merkuro/-/issues/216Adding a local account with a non-existent file doesn't create a new file2023-03-14T12:20:06ZCode For AllAdding a local account with a non-existent file doesn't create a new fileSpecifications
