Issue created Aug 20, 2022 by Alex Kh@alexkh

Search results are appearing unsorted + irrelevant results are being shown

How to reproduce:

  1. open KDE Discover app
  2. click "Installed" bottom button in the left pane to apply a filter to show only installed apps
  3. enter a search token like "kon" and press enter

What was expected: I was expecting to see an alphabetically sorted list of packages I do have installed, which are having the search token ("kon") in either name or a textual description which is shown to users. Ideally the search token should be highlighted among the findings

What happened: some irrelevant unsorted results which are having no search token neither in their names or descriptions

My wild guess: I'm guessing you guys are using more broad search criteria than you should really do, i.e. you're searching not only among package name and description fields but some other fields as well, but the issue here is that given these additional fields are not shown to user, it's making no sense to consider them while searching.

The plasma-discover package I have is of version 5.20.5-3
