Overview layout algorithm for skippy-xd

Hi, this is developer of skippy-xd https://github.com/felixfung/skippy-xd, which has been under active development in the past 18 months. Skippy-xd is a lightweight, window-manager-agnostic app that provides Alt-Tab, expose and virtual desktop selection features on X11.

Currently, I would rate the expose layout algorithm on skippy-xd as maybe 6/10: it is usable, but with significant flaws, and is far from great. So I would like to ask for KDE overview's layout algorithm(s) for inspiration or potentially direct copying, if possible?
