Wi-Fi icon doesn't appear in the top status bar when Wi-Fi is on

I recall this recently not being a problem so I'm not sure what changed (possibly f6e34a4f?) but right now you wouldn't know you're connected (or not) to a Wi-Fi network without going to the settings.
