Plasma Beta page
In preparation for the Plasma 6.0 Beta release, it'd be useful for the Welcome Center to show a page introducing the Beta as it would a major update, with specialised text and links for testers.
To do this, I have some preliminary work in the work/olib/version-handling branch to use similar code as in our desktop preview banner (including to call itself Plasma 6 Beta, rather than 5.27.90). I think this is best implemented by replacing the Update page with a loader, that would select between two different pages in subfolders for the update or beta case. The autostart helper would also be changed to invoke (--beta) on an update to a .90+ version, where the previous version was not .90+. It would only be seen once per beta.
An earlier attempt at this was !48 (closed).
I'm creating this issue because I can't do this immediately due to my academic commitments, but I'd like to take a stab this weekend, and would like to discuss ideas for what this should look like, including what links would be useful to provide to testers.
A later overhaul to the Update page in general also interests me, but is a separate issue.
