xembedsniproxy causing high cpu usage when compositor is disabled

I have an Electron 8 app which while opened and having the compositor disabled causes 100% cpu usage of one core in xembedsniproxy making the system unusable until it's closed or the compositor is enabled again.

During this journald is spammed with this message hundreds of times per second:
