RFC: What should happen when

I was having some contradicting thoughts in this regard, I figured maybe we can discuss collectively what we actually want.

What should plasma look like when [blankN]? Please either describe or show a small diagram of what you think it should look like.

Cases:

  1. You're a Plasma user on your laptop. It looks like a normal desktop.
  2. You connect it to an external display [blank1]
  3. Then you close the laptop's lid [blank2]
  4. And you open the lid back again [blank3]

As of !1049 (merged) suggests, this would be:

  • [blank1] the Laptop remains the same, External is empty.
  • [blank2] the Laptop is obviously gone, External is still empty (I'd have to add a panel manually)
  • [blank3] the Laptop would restore like it was in [blank1] as well as the start, External would be as I'd left it
