[Suggestion] Replacing Perl with Python or other dependency-free alternative
This is more of a question than an issue. Why is this project built with Perl and not Python/Bash or something else that is almost always available by default in most Linux distributions?
I use containers for most of my development, however, I do prefer to run (with kdesrc-run) the binary on the host because Nvidia can be a hit or miss inside containers. So I need to install the Perl dependencies on my host too.
If there is enough support/reason, I would like to reduce the dependencies required to run kdesrc-build (mainly the run command). I can work on slowly rewriting at least the smaller parts in python or any other scripting language which doesn't need dependencies.
Of course, I don't mind as long as there is a specific reason to stick to Perl, and nor do I think that Perl is a dying language or something like that. I just think it might be a good idea to improve on the new contribution process and reducing kdesrc-build dependencies seems to be a good place to start.
