Shutdown of Seleno
Currently we host a container on the physical machine 'Cano' known as Seleno. This to my knowledge only hosts one service, the Indico instance for conf.linuxappsummit.org.
In the interests of minimizing our maintenance overhead, simplifying backups, and freeing up Cano
to run other tasks, we should shutdown Seleno.
The Indico instance for conf.linuxappsummit.org should be moved to Hepta, or alternatively if it is no longer required, archived in the Private Sysadmin Archive.
Tasks to do for this:
-
Receive confirmation from @kcoyle as to which of the options should be proceeded with. -
Copy the database content across into conf_las on Hepta -
Copy the Redis content across into /2 and /3 respectively (as /0 and /1 are in use) on Hepta -
Provision the latest version of Indico for conf.linuxappsummit.org following the same method used to deploy conf.kde.org -
Execute any required upgrade procedures per the Indico documentation -
Verify functionality of the updated Indico instance -
Arrange for conf.linuxappsummit.org to be repointed to Hepta
Note: we do not have access to linuxappsummit.org through our normal means of managing DNS. It is my understanding that @apol has access to this.
