Release v2.8.1

We should make a patch release (v2.8.1) as we have a few bugs fixed and there is an ask to update translations (#24 (closed)).

I can be the release manager. Let me know if there are any known regressions, code reviews, unpublished work that you want to include into the release. I merged all MRs that were approved long time back and just approved !120 (merged), so I'm waiting for others to check for 7 days.
