Just an opinion based on engineering/product development practices: if a feature is not widely used and there isn't enough dev-power to maintain it and there is a possibility that by using such feature users can lose their data and someone will need to spend time triaging bugs that will most likely never be addressed appropriately, then that feature should be dismissed.
I really like the idea of doing some research to find out what features of Activities could be integrated in Virtual Desktops, but keeping them alive despite what highlighted by @ngraham doesn't sound as very efficient IMO.
It would be great to have this implemented!
@agrinev about
KWin should include a full support of dbus menu protocol
is this something planned (perhaps because needed for other features) or just a suggestion on what's needed to implement this correctly?
In the Plasma 5.22 announcement page, the laptop-overlay picture is closer to the left border instead of being centered.
I am not a web developer, however after a bit of trial and error I was able to get it right by modifying its margin-left property:

but again I am not sure that's the correct way to fix it.
The same applies to the Plasma 5.20 release page and 5.21 as well, although they might be irrelevant by now.
