Cleanup defunct usage of RunnerSyntax

Alexander Lohnau requested to merge work/cleanup_defunct_logic into master

We don't allow empty queries anyway(both ResultsModel and old SourcesModel) and most runners don't set a default syntax.
Also the entire concept of this code block seems very questionable, so IMO it is not worth preserving.
