Make QQC Desktop Style reflect the QStyle's window and menu backgrounds
After a comment on this article (https://pointieststick.com/2023/06/18/on-the-road-to-plasma-6/) and a suggestion from Nate I post this suggestion here. I hope it is in the right place. :)
QQC Desktop Style handles some aspects of different theme engines like Oxygen, Kvantum, QtCurve, etc, but much of the style is lost. One of the most noticable omissions are styled backgrounds for windows and menus, for example Oxygens beautiful gradient backgrounds or the awesome textures QtCurve allows. Would it be possible to implement support for this in QQC Desktop Style it would go a long way to make the difference smaller and allow for more non-flat theme details.
This is especially important now as more and more parts of the KDE ecosystem use Kirigami and QtQuick. I understand it is not easy to inherit a style and apply it like this, but I mention this part specifically since it means a rather large difference for the themes that use it.
As a side note, I am selling a lot of computers with Linux and KDE on to people, and “You can make everything look any way you want – not only change a few colors” is still is the best sales pitch for me to get people to switch from Windows and MacOS, so I believe this to be important. ;)
As always, thanks for all your hard work!
