Draft: add autosave on annotation change

This isn't in a finished/polished/test state whatsoever, but I thought I'd see how the maintainers feel about this before continuing.

This adds an autosave feature when annotations are added/removed/changed, so ctrl+s doesn't have to be pressed constantly (even though I appreciate it's an ingrained habit for many).
