The LUT effect causes all kinds of weirdness with the latest (2021-11-30) git version of MLT
Hi there!
I started running into issues with the LUT effects producing horrible banding with yesterday's git version of mlt installed. I filed a bug report, and Dan updated mlt to fix it. You can read about it here: https://github.com/mltframework/mlt/issues/755#issuecomment-982353315
Now kdenlive sometimes completely ignores the LUT effect when applied, and at other times just segfaults as soon as the LUT effect is applied.
I re-compiled mlt this morning, and kdenlive as well, both from the latest master branches in git.
I have tried with proxies on and off, and at various project resolutions. With existing projects and new ones... and all I can say is that it is weird. about 50% of the time, the LUT effect works correctly. About 20% of the time, the LUT effect has no effect at all on what is displayed in the project monitor, and the rest of the time, kdenlive segfaults.
It seems to segfault more when starting a new project and applying just the LUT to a clip in the timeline, but sometimes it just works. Sometimes it will be ignored on a clip, and when I add the clip again and drag the effect across it works fine, but then segfaults when I change the interpolation from tetrahedral to anything else.
When I revert mlt back to about a month ago's code, applying LUTs are rock solid and beautiful.
