[suggestion?] rename clips... add something like a label?
i come to this forum thread : https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=265&t=174628&p=454281#p454281 at beginning i was thiking this is a strange request (never seen on my old video editing softwares)
but...
names of clips are completely UNFRIENDLY... i use original names just to understand where i was (looking at original footages) when i stopped a project.
and "rename" is a standard function that any "newbie" uses every day and probbaly for who doens't make videos a partial clip on timline is like a file.. and can be deleted copied ... and maybe RENAMED.
i don't think that this can be a killer-feature BUT... Kdelnive can be the first whit FRIENDLY NAME of clips.
this night i was thinking about an "extra" string that can be placed on HEAD of original name, something like:
from this: 20220331_144448-30fps.mp4
to this: bench injection - 20220331_144448-30fps.mp4
this "header" can be automatically moved on cutted parts of the clip ( as a legacy .. and maybe changed again on every piece)
P.S. can be nice also to have a flag to remove the "extension" from the clip label ( .mp4 .avi ) because on MacOS and Windows the extension is hidden by default.
