[Suggestion] Perceived mismatch between default project length/duration, timeline display, scroll bar size and zoom level
When Kdenlive starts, the default project "Untitled" has a length/duration of 00:16:40,29. This is indicated accurately only in the time/frame field in the project monitor; the timeline toolbar time/frame indicator increases the time counter even when the playhead is moved outside the timeline (it snaps back to indicate the position of the mouse pointer (!!!) in the timeline when the mouse cursor is moved over the timeline, but I can still have it count up to a value outside the timeline). At the same time, the timeline shows only a section or the project duration (00:16:40,29) based on the default zoom factor 13/21. The scroll bar for timeline is about a 10th or an 11th of the size of the timeline window (which, in turn, shows about 1/16th of the entire project lebgth/duration). If you move the scroll bar all the way to the right, the timeline shows the tail section of the project with the 00:16:40,29 timeline ruler. If you use the scroll bar handles to change the zoom level, you cannot go below 15/21 - this is only possible with the zoom level slider in the status bar or via Ctrl+Wheel in the timeline. Note that some ppl switch off the status bar for more screen real estate.
I suggest to reduce the default project duration to something like 00:05:00,00 and add an option in the project defaults section to specify a default project duration. The default zoom level should be 1/5th of the default project length/duration. The scroll bar would then be a lot bigger and easier to handle for smaller projects.
