Compute a new tag value.
I am using Sonos devices which require "Sound Check" derived Volume Levelling data to be stored in a iTunNORM ID3v2 tag. However, the quality of the Sound Check algorithm is not as good as R128 algorithm. Therefore I have used R128 against around 30,000 AIFF music files. This metadata is written into a tag called "Volume Level (R128)". I want to extrapolate that value into a sound check hex value and write the resultant into a tag called iTunNORM. And I want to do it concurrently for 30,000 files. I can successfully create the tag in the editor and it works fine. But I am not sure how to go about the value conversion - if that sort of thing is implemented.
Because of the possibility that I ask too much! I investigated exporting all my tags to en excel spreadsheet. Calculating the new values there and importing them again. But I stopped work on that project once I realised that I was restricted to a single directory for the operation. See my other post on subdirectories. Thanks.
