Issue created Jan 29, 2021 by AR Rob@arob

Genres are now always saved as number and not text

I am a Mac user, and I don't know why Kid3 has decided that all tags for the genre field will be numbers and not text when I have the option in preferences checked for ID3V2 "Genre as text instead of numeric string". This used to be a random issue, but now all files tagged with Kid3 only show numbers for genre's. This is becoming an issue when I have a large folder with lots of songs that have different genres. Example: I just added the compilation field to a folder of 200 .mp3s and when I looked at the files in Apple Music and VLC, all the genres were switched to numbers and was quite the mess to redo manually for each song. Obviously I couldn't use KID3 to fix this because it is the app causing the bad tagging.
