Follow the user: View state deferring to item selection
- Individual views holding their own scroll / focus state makes sense when just browsing around.
- The point where the user makes a selection, this starts making less sense - a user changing views with an active selection seems more likely to want to view that selection in varying contexts rather than switch to a view in which they are holding an off-screen active selection.
- Suggest that views continue to hold their own scroll / focus state, but that this is overwritten when a selection is made and / or the timing of that selection changes. This should be able to satisfy both the browsing around case and the viewing in context one.
