Online calendar does not show status
After linking to online calendars, there is no visiual indication that there is anything wrong with the sync status of a calendar if/when something goes wrong.
I have noticed that Merkuro seems to ask for the Google Authentication quite often. While it is annoying, it is more annoying to do work on the local copy and then wonder why none of it is showing up on the online copy.
If I have not checked for this specifically I could have made a few important appointments which would never have been kept, as the information did not end up where it was supposed to go, all because the calendar was waiting for yet another Google Authentication.
So, please, if a calendar is not connected and it is supposed to be, firstly don't allow any events to be added to the calendar, and somehow indicate that the calendar is offline. For bonus points, go into some sort of offline mode, store any events added in this mode in a buffer, and sync them back to the online calendar when the connection issue is sorted.
It is very, very bad to fail silently. When something is wrong, make some noise, put on some flashing lights and pop up dialogs.. anything to let the user know that whatever important thing that they are trying to do is probably not going to work unless some issue is sorted out first.
Kind regards, Evert
