Toggle plasmoids when shortcut is activated
This toggles the plasmoid when it is activated using a shortcut. If the plasmoids want to change this behavior they can still override it. IMHO the proposed change is not invasive and should not break any plasmoids.
The systemtray needs some special care ;)
