[Applet] Port to PlasmaExtras.PlaceholderMessage and simplify

Nate Graham requested to merge ngraham/plasma-nm:port-to-placeholdermessage into master

We have a standardized component for this, so we can save some code and avoid looking inconsistent. Also there's no need for two messages; one can handle all of the text by simply adjusting the text conditional.
