Better guard against breaking changes
Recently there have been alot of updates to kdersc-build. While I personally I think this is great, others struggled with it as it broke their build tools. Lets identify the issues and work towards a goal to fix the issues.
Is the issue about identifying breaking changes? If so:
Better testing -> Either ping teams/QA. Or people like me who like to test changes should step up and test before things get merged.
Is the issue communicating?
- Maybe send out a E-mail to the mailing list a few days before merging breaking changes.
- Instead of doing a git pull, create a update flag that warns before breaking changes and only after pressing Y git pulls (like package managers)
Other options include don't update kdesrc-build and work on kdesrc-builder or create a stable and a master branch.
Please tell me your opinion so we can workout a solution that works for everyone.
