Suggestion about releases
First I want to say thank you for working on Plasma Mobile. You are awesome.
Problem description
Currently releases are drafted every 4 months. It works great for the desktop version of Plasma, but I don't think it fits very well with the mobile version of Plasma.
Mobile version in it's early stage, so it contains bugs and grows fast. But in order to get usability improvements and some fixes, users have to wait 4 months.
Yes, fixes are backported, but not all of them. Developers may simply forget to backport changes. For example, we just got Plasma 5.24.1 with broken "close" button (it worked in 5.24.0) despite this bug was fixed in the master branch: plasma/plasma-mobile@3453760d. Also many components are simply rewritten and cannot always be backported. Because of this, users have to wait for the next release to get a fix in a particular component.
Also, such long releases produce discommunication between developers and users. Due to fast growth, what developers use is very different from what ordinary users use.
Possible solution
Backport more agressive. Simply push master into a patch branch (except commits that depends on master desktop components). There is no point in delaying functional changes, everything is in very early stage anyway. This will allow to get a fresh feedback from users.
Possible alternative solution
Use a different release schedule for Mobile Plasma (with more frequent releases). Probably too unrealistic.
Maybe you will come up with a better solution. Just wanted to suggest something from user perspective to make mobile plasma more stable. Thanks!
