What's the future of the mobile settings components?
Plasma Mobile apps have a new settings UI that uses cards and large interaction areas. It looks really good:
But, it's also only used in Plasma Mobile apps which aspire to be convergent, and this style of settings is very "mobiley" with very low space efficiency--the trade-off for large interaction areas. It could be improved upon and rolled out for the settings windows of QtQuick apps and KCMs, but being QML-only it has no easy implementation in our QtWidgets apps and QtWidgets KCMs.
At this point in time I doubt there's any chance someone will build UI components for QtWidgets apps to make it work there (though I'd love to be proven wrong). So if we keep it and roll it out everywhere in QtQuick land, we will have to live with arbitrary-seeming inconsistency between QtQuick apps and QtWidgets apps.
So we need to decide on a path forward.
