The Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (LNDW) (English: 'Long Night of the Sciences') will take place on 22 June 2024. From 17:00-24:00 CEST around 60 scientific and science-related institutions in Berlin will once again be hosting spectacular experiments, exciting lectures, science shows, and laboratory tours, giving visitors the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes.
"Die Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften findet am 22. Juni 2024 statt. Von 17 bis 24 Uhr laden dann wieder rund 60 wissenschaftliche und wissenschaftsnahe Einrichtungen in Berlin zu spektakulären Experimenten, spannenden Vorträgen, Wissenschaftsshows und Laborführungen ein und geben so Besucher:innen die Möglichkeit, hinter die Kulissen zu schauen."

Goals
- Recruit participants for a follow-up installation event
- Increase downloads of Okular
- Increase visitors to revamped KDE Eco website
- Increase subscribers to kde-eco-announce mailing list
- Increase participants in our survey for end-users about needs for changing operating systems
Note: after the event we will document numbers for the above goals.
How
- Provide info-flyers (printed and QR codes) about e-waste and energy consumption/CO2 emissions driven by software
- Demo (unsupported) devices running Free Software
- Present how-to video for installing Free Software
- Provide download info for Okular and other sustainable software
- Provide links to end-user survey and KDE Eco website
- Collect emails to subscribe visitors to kde-eco-announce mailing list
